Our programs offer a learning continuum crafted for the developing child. Play-based education supports the growth of soft-skills often overlooked by kindergarten and older classrooms.
We nurture the whole child by engaging with their individual interests through experiential play. We promote physical, social, academic and emotional development through curiosity, problem solving, and fun.
UTCS kids grow to become competent, confident, life-long learners who are caring members of their community and good stewards of their world.

We model lasting connection & community for our kids - it's at the core of everything we do.
Our staff represent our community. Many of our teachers are from our local area, have attended the University of Washington, and have a deep connection to Seattle. Every day we spend time in our community, going for walks to local parks. exploring our local library, experiencing the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and so much more.
Our children leave UTCS with a strong sense of community that eases their transition to higher grades and provides a solid foundation for life.
Join our growing community
UTCS accepts a new cohort of Grasshoppers each September, and we have year-round enrollment for all rooms as spaces become available, with individual waitlists for each classroom.
While we initially sort children into their classrooms by age, we assess each child's developmental level when finalizing their placement.
We offer priority enrollment to UTCS siblings and to families using the WCCC subsidy.
